We're pleased to confirm that Nucco is now an accredited Living Wage Employer.
The real Living Wage commitment guarantees that anyone working at Nucco receives at least the London living wage, which is currently £13.15 per hour, significantly higher than the government's minimum wage for those over 23, which is £10.42.
The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to living costs. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers who wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 460,000 people and put £3 billion extra into the pockets of low-paid workers. In London, 13.6% of all jobs pay less than the real Living Wage – that's 575,000 jobs.
"There is no available data for advertising and marketing services businesses, but there are plenty of anecdotal examples of graduates working below the real London living wage in London agencies. We believe this practice should stop and encourage other agencies to commit to paying a real London living wage," said Mark Iremonger, MD & Strategy Partner at Nucco.
Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: "We're delighted that Nucco has joined the movement of over 14,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on.
"They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as AVIVA, Barclays, Oxfam and many more. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Nucco, believe that a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay."
